'Flying Like a Bird' with 50 Koto Musicians

Fifty koto players from around the world took up the challenge in 2024 to achieve the high level of technical skill and musicality that is required to perform Flying Like A Bird (Tori no Youni). Composed in 1985, "Tori no Youni" (Flying like a Bird) is a masterpiece of modern Japanese music and one of the greatest examples of the genius and artistry of Tadao Sawai. The result was a video recorded across the world, expertly brought to life with audio mixing and mastering by Shinji Tanaka, along with beautiful graphic art by Miho Watanabe.
